Why I'm crying myself to sleep tonight...

And last night. Our laptop harddrive is gone. All of our pictures of Beck--gone. All of our videos of Beck--gone. All of the pictures we've ever taken since we've been married--gone. All of Beck's milestone dates I had saved in a document--gone. And I seriously just can't stop crying about it. I just want to go to bed and pretend it never happened, but I can't sleep because I'm sick to my stomach.

And you know the worst/harshly ironic part about this all is? We bought an external hard drive on Friday and were going to move all of our files onto it today during our downtime. But our harddrive crashed last night.

If you know of anything we can do, please let me know. We had our friend look at it (he used to work at a computer repair shop), and he said it's gone. But we're still trying to have hope that something will work. There are some "drive saver" companies you can send it into, but they charge thousands of dollars. Worst situation ever. ONE day too late! So bitter. Sorry for the purely negative post, I just can't help myself right now.

I am so sorry! That's awful. At least you have all your blog posts and pictures and video on your blog. Back that up! :)

I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how sick you must feel. Hopefully someone with something will turn up to help out. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya. That really is awful.

I don't know how to help with what you lost but i know there are companies out there who run a computer back-up thing. It's like $5 a month or something like that and they keep all your stuff back up on their system for you incase something like this should happen. I don't remember the name but if you're interested let me know and I'll get you the information. So sorry that happen. HOpefully you can find a way to recover it.

That's the reason I put so much on my blog. In case my house burned down or a similar situation. I definitely would be crying too. I'm so sorry!!!

Kathryn that is VERY BAD!!! I thought the same thing happened to us but David did something and was able to get everything back. There still might be hope. Maybe you have already tried it but Adam can always call David. GOOD LUCK and Sorry!!!!

My husband is a computer guy (heck, it's what he does for a living!) What exactly happened to your hard drive? I'll ask him tomorrow, as he is already in bed... Let me know!

I'm so sorry! The EXACT thing happened to us about 2 weeks ago. Except we were "prepared" by having our computer w/ files AND an external hard drive. Well the comp crashed about 2 months ago and we thought we were safe...but upon getting it back we didn't think to put all the external drive pix and videos back on it. Well needless to say - our EXTERNAL hard drive crashed for no reason and same thing - it's all GONE unless we come up with bazillions of dollars on the HOPE it comes back!

My suggestions:
~contact ALL family and friends and ask them to email you picture! you may be surprised what you get back
~save everything from this point on to your External Drive AND DVD's/CD's
~go to Google Photo's and you can print all your pictures you've ever posted in blogs. At least this way you'll have the "big moments" and some of the better pictures you've taken!
~Keep your drive - who knows, maybe in a few years it'll be cheaper to pull pictures off (that's our hope!)

Again I'm so sorry! I feel your pain! I still feel sick thinking about it happening to us! :(

oh man i'm sorry! i used to work for byu's computer rental/repair program, and we had some devices and software to help pull stuff off harddrives, but i'd have to have it here to know if i could do anything with it... so if you ever come down this way (to provo) let me know, and i'll definitely give it a shot for you! (or if you know anyone coming this way, send it with them, i'll meet up and give it a try!!!) we've gotten stuff off my grandparent's harddrive before when best buy said they couldn't... so you never know...

I'm so sorry! That really stinks. Stay positive and count your blessings, you still have Beck to take lots more pictures of! Don't give up though, there has to be something that can be done - hopefully.

NOOOOO!!! That's the worst feeling EVER! I cried pretty hard when my camera (with 95% of our honeymoon pictures on it) was stolen while in custody of hotel security in Mexico. I'm totally feeling your pain! (But it's worse with a baby's pictures, I think.) So sorry!!!
