Updates, updates!

Wow, a lot has happened since just two weeks ago!

#1 Adam got a new job! He is still working for BYU-Idaho, but his new position is a Career and Academic Advisor for the College of Business and Communication! He just started this past Tuesday, and is really enjoying it so far. There is a lot of room for growth in this department (which he thrives on), so he's getting really excited and already changing things up over there for the better. And I am especially excited because he is working with all my old Comm and Business professors/buddies I worked with when I was a Comm major and secretary in the Comm Dept. We are so excited and grateful he got the job. He enjoyed the Housing Department for the five years he was there, but is also loving this position as well. And heck, he has already been fed three free lunches this week! Just a lucky first week... :)

#2 We almost have a house! Which just feels crazy to say! Immediately when Adam got this job, we started looking for houses! We're not high-rollers yet or anything, but thankfully will actually be able to make a mortgage payment work! We made an offer on a pre-foreclosure house, but they were lame and weren't willing to budge at all (even though it was a pre-foreclosure!). Anyway, we found a different house that is actually way more us. We love it. It's a one-level, 1500-square-foot little home. But it's a really nice, mature property with about 1/4 acre fenced in yard, with fruit trees and flower/garden beds, with a full sprinkler system (even in the garden beds). It's 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2-car garage, nice shelved closets, and a crawl space that's the full length of the home. And we got a pretty good deal on it! And hopefully will maybe be able to buy a second little car with our $8,000 tax credit. The seller is also going to have the whole home re-painted and re-carpeted with our choice of colors, and is going to pay for us to stay in a hotel from the time we have to move out of our current apartment before we move into the house. He also is going to include all appliances--including the hot tub!--and pay all closing costs. And it is just around the corner from a big playing field and cute little park! So, needless to say, we are very happy, grateful and excited! And assuming all goes well with the inspection and closing and such, we should be in this new little home toward the end of April!

Congratulations and Congratulations! I guess it's time to really accept the fact you will be living in Rexburg for a while! Which really isn't a bad thing!
