Our current sleeping accommodations...

You guys are amazing--thank you for all of your advice!!! Seriously helpful.

I just wanted to share in the funniness (is that even a word?) of our current sleeping accommodations...

The funny thing is that we just got a new, beautiful mattress set (our bed was furnished in our old apartment), and we can't even sleep on it! I don't know if I've mentioned it on our blog before, but I have pregnancy-induced carpal tunnel. It drives me crazy! It started a few months back, but has only gotten worse and worse. I used to be able to sleep in a bed and just wake up a few times in the middle of the night with throbbing, numb hands, but for the last month or so, I have had to sleep in this lovely little recliner (which I am so grateful to have!) if I want any hope of sleeping. My arms/hands have to be straight down in order to not go numb, so the recliner helps with that. And Adam is just fine, but he's cute and sleeps on the couch so we can be in the same room. :)

Kind of funny, huh? I never would have thought that in my last month of pregnancy, my hands would be the thing driving me crazy!

How cute that Adam moved on to the couch so you guys could be close! I can't believe you only have a couple of weeks left! My advice is...have your bags ready...and don't expect to have an epidural. I wasn't sure if I wanted one or not because I have a curved spine...I moved too quickly anyway, that they couldn't give me one. I was just glad that I wasn't completely set on having one, because it could have made things a lot more emotional. Just go with the flow and know everything will work out the way it is supposed to for you (I know easier said then done). Keep us posted!

That was nice of Adam. We have similar sleeping arrangements when I am pregnant. There is this one spot on my back that really hurts me, especially at night when i am sleeping-or I should say NOT sleeping. I start in bed because Ben likes to put his arm around when we fall asleep and then I move to the couch the first time I wake up. You'll love being back in a bed once beck comes.

I didn't read the other advice but my only thing is keep nursing. It is not that fun for the first month (it hurts) but it is so fun after that.

You poor thing. At least you found a sleeping arrangement that lets you sleep. I'm sure you'll love the new mattress set once Beck is born. Good luck these next few weeks.

How sweet that Adam does that! That is a stink that you have to deal with that. Trust me when I say pregnancy can be the best worst experience ever! LOL.

Hang in there (and chug the castor oil if you want that baby to come out). Haha - only kidding, I can't believe people can do that without puking!

I wish I could've kicked joe out of our bed while I was preg.!! So I missed you're last post on advice so here's my advice... Be prepared for anything!!! Everyone said I was going to have Travis early and I ended up being induced and then a c-section, non of which I knew anything about! I wished I would've asked more question during labor about all the stuff, medical equipment. Also (sorry if this is just too much information for some people) I wish I would've known once they broke my water it never really stopped. So I felt like I was constantly peeing my bed! And for me it was just yucky! I'm soooooo happy for you guys!!! good luck!

Well, I can't say that the recliner looks very comfortable. I do have one piece of advice for you. Breastfeeding can be kind of rough at first, but stick with it, it's worth it.

That is so cute that he sleeps on the couch so he can be in he same room!! That is really sweet! Luckily you wont have to deal with the carpal tunnel too much longer with Beck almost here. And for baby/mommy advice I don't have any! haha.. Im kinda in the same boat you are! Im just going to read what everyone told you.

I love the fact that he sleeps on the couch to be with you... it makes me happy! Andy probably would have stayed in the bed... hahaha! I do have a small piece of advice on nursing: Get some of that Lansinoh Nipple Cream stuff.... it works wonders. I didn't have to use it after Gracie, but after Trystan, OH MY GOSH! He kept latching on wrong and I was getting really sore... I'd use it after nursing and I didn't hurt again. It took a few days and he didn't really like feeding with it on there after I'd used it, but the soreness stopped completely and he learned how to latch on perfectly. It is thick, and goopy, (kind of looks like REALLY thick vaseline) but it works really well.

My second bit of advice would be to shower daily. Especially after having a baby, it helps to wash away the previous day's mishappenings (is that a word?) and give you a rejuvenated look at the new day before you. Plus, if you need a good cry, due to after-baby-emotions, it's always a good place to get it out. Find a really good shampoo/conditioner and an awesome body wash and this will become one of your favorite times of the day. (I really enjoyed Herbal Essences after I had my kids... the botanical blends really made me think of good things to start my day out on a positive note.) Also, remember that I love you and if you need anything, just e-mail or leave me a comment and I'll respond as soon as I can. I sure miss seeing you guys around here.

Oh Kathryn! I miss you guys! I totally understand the uncomfortable-ness... that comes with pregnancy. It's even worse when you have something that makes your body hurt more than it should. I had round ligament pain and my arms used to go numb too! Never thought of that before... but mine never hurt, so I feel for you there! I'm so excited for you guys! Where are you living now?!
