Go Ririe!

Adam and I are lucky at this time in our lives, to be living just a few minutes away from a town that's the namesake of our relative--Ririe, Idaho! I get really excited about this for a few reasons. 1. It's just really cool. 2. People around here actually say our name right (Rye-ree=good, Rear-ee=bad!). 3. We're a little part of Idaho history. 4. We just got a really cool Ririe High School sweatshirt, which is what inspired this post. :) Go Ririe!

You're gonna miss this

Tonight my good friend Elise was over and we were just playin' and chatting. Then we started talking about how so many people are moving in a month or so, and then how many more are leaving in July (almost our entire building). Adam and I aren't planning on moving, but eventually we want to go to Boise, so we don't know how much longer we'll be here in Rexburg.
I always think and talk about how I want to end up in Boise, but when we were chatting tonight it hit me that in order to go to Boise, I will have to leave Rexburg. And that thought made me want to cry (and now that I'm writing this, I actually am!). It's funny because I can't even count the amount of times I've complained about Rexburg--about its snow, wind, hills, pedestrians, potholes, etc., etc. And I will still probably complain about them tomorrow. :) But the things that make this place so special are the people and the spirit that are here. I don't know when we will go to Boise, but whenever we do, I know it won't be without a few tears. There's this country song that I absolutely love that really helps me be grateful for this time in my life. Most of the time we think of these years as the ones to "get through" until we become rich and settled, but whenever Adam and I do move on, I really am going to miss all this, and all of you! Here are the lyrics...

"You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins

She was staring out the window of that SUV
Complaning, saying, "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said, "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said, "I was just like you"

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her, "It's a nice place"
She says, "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says, "Baby, just slow down"

Cause you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringin'
One kid's cryin', one kid's screamin'
She keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got 2 babies of my own.
One's 36, one's 23.
Huh, it's hard to believe, but ...

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this"

Home sweet home

Wow, I haven't posted anything for almost two weeks! I'm not sure if anyone has noticed besides me, though. :) Well, I have always been a picture taker, usually of events or "pretty things," but lately I've been trying to capture more of everyday life--that's the most important anyway, right? So here are some everyday pics of our cute little apartment. Nothing too spectacular, but we enjoy it!
